Unfortunately, many university graduates cannot realise their full potential in their own countries because of the lack of opportunities. Paradoxically, there are other countries where flourishing businesses need talent from the rest of the World.

ibecome is a free international careers service for university students, even in their first year, and graduates. We are developing links with employers and recruiters based on the information that our registered users give us.

Finding a good job in another country is difficult, particularly if you don’t live there. Recruitment is typically sourced nationally. There are a lot of barriers (cultural, linguistic, regulatory) separating businesses from international talent.

We help students, even from the start of their degree, as well as graduates, to prepare for international employment or study and find jobs. We support businesses who want to benefit from a more international workforce.

Germany: the Giant in need of Talent

Germany: the Giant in Need of Skills

Although Germany’s investment in Higher and Vocational Education is exemplary, The Deutscher Industrie – und Handelskmmertag reports a persistent shortage of skilled labour.

This is partly due to demographic changes. Internal migration from the EU is alleviating the problem, but there are regions and occupations where more talent is needed, despite the recent economic crisis.

The Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie is well aware of the highly-valued contribution of specialised talent.

Their “Competence Center Securing Skilled Workers” (Kofa) supports small and medium-sized companies in finding, retaining and qualifying skilled workers.
